Bell & Gossett ASME Expansion Tanks

Bell & Gossett ASME Expansion Tanks

Bell & Gossett ASME Expansion Tanks specially designed for closed hydronic heating and cooling systems. We provide different type of systems based on the need. For expansion tanks, you can opt for the B series, B-LA series or the D series. All three have the following commendable features. Anything related to hydronic and hydraulic systems, we are at your service! People keep coming back to us for not only our high quality dependable products, but our excellent customer service in maintaining the same as well!

  • Bell & Gossett expansion tanks increase system performance

All three systems are ASME rated pressure vessels that are of the bladder-type and are pre-charged. Our tanks are made of an intelligent system – they are designed to absorb the expansion forces of heating and cooling water system. Such a system has innumerable advantages such as reduction of corrosion and improvement over the whole process.

  • Maintaining the same pressure

All the three series tanks are designed in such a way that they maintain the proper system pressure at a maximum of 125 PSI (862 kPa) even though there are changes in the operating conditions. This out-of-the-box feature helps protect the whole hydronic system from unnecessary rotting and corrosion.

  • Robust structure

The tanks are constructed in the following manner – System Connection is made of Forged Steel, the shell is made of Carbon Steel and the bladder is made of Butyl Rubber. Due to the use of Butyl rubber, the whole system has exceptionally low liquid and moisture permeability, meaning it is safe for potable water. What’s more, it has excellent resistance towards electrical insulation!

  • Choice between replaceable bladder or fixed diaphragm

The Bell & Gossett series D, B-LA ASME bladder expansion tanks  are made of economical fixed butyl diaphragm and economical heavy duty replaceable butyl bladder respectively. The series B is made up of heavy duty full acceptance butyl bladder.

There isn’t much difference between the two. Bladder tanks provide heating and cooling features by absorbing expansion forces. They use compressed air to adjust the pressure. This is done by either eliminating or accepting water volume changes, since water expands when it heats up and contracts when cooled. The benefit is that you can change the bladder whenever required.

Diaphragms work in a similar way, except that they cannot be replaced. The diaphragm is usually made of rubber and it is always attached to the internal area of the tank. So, it prevents the absorption of air and hence protects the water heating and cooling systems.

Both function the same way, so your choice just depends on whether you want the hassle of the replacement of the bladder or not. If you do choose replaceable units, then you know that you are getting a new part every time the bladder is changed, hence increasing the longevity of the tanks.

The best thing is, whichever you choose, and we are here to help you understand on how to use these systems to the best of their abilities!

  • No more water clogging problems

As explained earlier, the bladder and diaphragm both keep the expanded or contracted water away from the interior of the tank. An air wall separates the exterior of the bladder and the tank. Hence, water clogging problems are long gone!

  • The tanks have a high maximum operation temperature

Our tanks have a very high operating temperature, a maximum of 240⁰ F. Hence, this system can be used for all kinds of applications.

  • Seismic restraints are available on demand

Any system needs to be taken care of. Though our systems are not that heavy, and can be easily moved from one place to another, they can still be subject to damage during transportation, even if it is just 10 m away.

Forget earthquakes, even working around these systems can endanger them to damage. Hence, provide seismic restraints that you can use to make sure that your equipment can withstand force, even if it is very mild. We have thought of everything when these systems were designed and hence, we placed utmost thought on safety.

  • We give you our guarantee

Finally, why do you need to choose us? Because, we have not only thought of specific constraints while designing our system, we have tested them out in all kinds of hypothetical situations that rarely ever happen in the real world.

Plus, all our systems are designed in accordance to ASME standards! So don’t place your trust in your local manufacturer. Instead choose one of our superior Bell & Gossett HVAC Expansion Tanks and rest assured that your hydronic system will last for many years!
