In this day and age where space is a major constraint faced by most, the pump reduces the pump room footprint by more than 40% as compared to the split case and vertical inline pumps. The pump is many features rolled into one, it is engineered using the most advanced technology highly suitable to all uses. As the pumps are custom built it is necessary to identify the chiller, cooling tower and general pumping requirements. These are then matched with the Best Efficiency points (BEF) to common chiller and tower sizes and normal industrially specified flows and head condition. Using the highly sophisticated Computational fluid Dynamics (CFD), the designs are then digitized and stimulated. The complicated technology of CFD takes a bank of over 18 computers and up to 30 hours to prepare just one hydraulics analysis. This helps to a great extent in the customization of the pumps. The CFD technology also aids in delivering identical performance in any flange configuration. Making it viable for the customers to maximize all piping possibilities and easily meeting a broad range of hydraulics for chillers, towers, distributive and general pumping requirements.
The pump has been designed in such a manner that the position of the flanges under the load support the weight of heavy piping directly on its nozzles thereby averting any impairment in pump operations. The design also optimizes the vertical piping applications by eliminating the space -robbing elbows, protruding accessories and pipe supports. The advanced technology of the centrifugal pump permits hydraulic coverage to all the design requirements. The efficiency of the pump allows a high range of parameters for flowing, heading, working pressures and ANSI flange ratings. The machine can withstand temperature ranging from -17 degrees C to 148 degrees C.
Speedy Installation:
The world class design of the Bell & Gossett VSC-VSCS centrifugal pumps does away with long hours and complicated installation procedures. The new groutless base plate enables speedy installation procedure. The base plate is also rock solid and will not give in to the weight. The installation time is further reduced by maximizing the alignment protection. The new one-piece unitized seal eliminates multiple seal components and simplifies replacement too. This has fewer parts than other competitive seals resulting in fewer installation errors.
Simplified and Easy Maintenance:
No rigging or heavy-duty material handling equipment is necessary to gain access to the bearing, mechanical seals or shaft sleeves. Unlike older horizontal double-suction, split-case and larger vertical inline pumps, there are no heavy top casings or motors to lift off, saving cost, reducing risk and providing easy access to the rotating assembly. The easy to approach design makes bearing, mechanical seal and shaft sleeve inspection and replacement easy, which can be done from either side, the inboard or outboard without disturbing the piping or the motor. The easy split design avoids movement of hubs during inspection or replacement. Moreover, the ANSI/OSHA coupling guard surrounds the coupling to protect the personnel. The maintenance-free bearings eliminate the need for regular maintenance, documentation logs, over-greasing problems and the risk of mixing greases that can cause early failure. This design not only reduces maintenance time and costs, but also helps extend pump life.
